Smashcasters Episode 1: The Culture

Welcome to Smashcasters! I am very excited to present to you the first episode, entitled "The Culture." In this episode, we will be exploring the culture of the Smash community here in Wilmington, North Carolina. I will visit a local smash event, as well as conduct a brief interview with a frequent member of the community. Enjoy, and be sure to share it around the community!

How can you get involved?

There are several ways that an individual interested in joining our community can get involved in tournaments. Just because we're all about Super Smash Brothers doesn't mean you have to play it. You can come and watch, or you can try it for yourself and learn! The great thing about it is that you have the leisure of choosing what you want to do to get involved. 

You can find more information about the North Carolina Smash scene as a whole here: http://www.ncsmash.com/. You can join game-specific Facebook communities by choosing one of the links for the different games (Super Smash Brothers 64, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, etc..) and from there you can request to join the Facebook community where you can find out what events are going on near you and get to know each-other. Furthermore, you can choose a region specific to where you live, such as Greensboro - or pertaining more to this podcast - Wilmington. So, don't be shy, and give it a go! Who knows? Maybe you'll find a new hobby.
